During the second quarter, the implementation of the strategic plan continued at a high pace, reports Byggmax.
This year the company opened at total of twelve new Byggmax stores, ten Byggmax Garden departments and continued to develop its e-commerce business. The initiatives to transform Skånska Byggvaror have been executed according to plan. The new stores have, according to Byggmax, been well received and have contributed significantly positively to sales growth by the end of the quarter.
The second quarter was, however, affected by challenging external factors. “The late start to the season had a significant negative impact on sales in April, and raw material prices for timber increased substantially during spring which affected gross margins negatively,” continues Ankaberg. Byggmax Group’s sales decreased by 2.5 percent in the quarter, compared to the same period last year.
