In 2019, Praktiker Hungary experienced a jump in sales of 18 per cent compared with the previous year.
The sales volume rose to HUF 67.9 bn (EUR 192 mio). Managing director and co-owner Karl-Heinz Keth confirmed these figures from press reports, which indicate that Praktiker’s market share is equivalent to a third of the market.
The DIY chain achieved its highest sales with its bathroom, garden, building materials and tile products. Online sales now account for 10 per cent of total turnover. The company currently operates 20 DIY stores with an overall retail area of around 130 000 m².
